If you have any signs of dementia (such as confusion about people, time and orientation, and abnormal mood and behavior), you should consult a doctor as soon as possible. Although there is currently no cure for dementia, if found early, proper medications can reduce symptoms, help maintain brain function and slow down the rate of memory decline. Some psychological and behavioral treatments can also improve patients' behavioral problems.

At the same time, having balanced intake of the five food groups: grains/cereal, protein, vegetable, fruits and dairy and increasing physical activity can lower the risk of having dementia.

On the other hand, because patients with dementia will gradually lose their memories and have many problems in self-care, they need the support and care of their families. Patients' family members can participate in a support group, learn the skills of patient care, share the experience with each other and reduce anxiety and stress.
