Cardiovascular

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a general term for conditions affecting the heart or blood vessels. CVDs are the number 1 cause of death globally: more people die annually from CVDs than from any other cause. Most cardiovascular diseases can be prevented by addressing behavioural risk factors such as tobacco use, unhealthy diet and obesity, physical inactivity and harmful use of alcohol using population-wide strategies.

The following risk assessment can only reflect your risk of having cardiovascular disease due to environmental risk factors. The test results are for reference only. If you have any doubts, you should seek help from your doctor as soon as possible for further evaluation. Early prevention and treatment can help prevent the development of cardiovascular disease.

To prevent and fight against cardiovascular disease:

1. Have a balanced diet
Balanced intake of the five food groups: grains/cereal, protein, vegetable, fruits and dairy. At the same time, avoid food with high sodium, such as processed meat, canned food and pickles, food with high saturated fat, such as fatty meat, butter and lard, and food with trans fat, such as hard margarine and fried food.

2. Maintain a healthy body weight
Obesity can increase the risk of having high blood pressure, sugar and lipids. We can control our body weights by balancing energy intake and increasing physical activity.
