天然食物中也存在着丰富的辅酶Q10,如动物内脏、沙丁鱼及一般肉类都含有;植物种子如花生、芝麻等也含有丰富的辅酶Q10。导致体内辅酶Q10降低的主要原因包括: a) 营养不均:无法由饮食中直接提供足够的辅酶Q10及体内合成辅酶Q10的营养素─酪胺酸、维生素B群及多种微量元素等。 b) 体内合成辅酶Q10的生理机制不正常或减退(例如:年龄增长),无法合成足够的辅酶Q10。 c) 生理机制消耗辅酶Q10的速率比一般人高,因此需求量也比较高。 d) 药物影响。研究发现,服用statin类药物会使体内辅酶Q10的浓度下降,带来副作用,所以许多欧美的心脏科医生建议服用statin类药物的同时,应该同时补充辅酶Q10以减少危险的副作用。2
